Eureka Springs
Meeting Date: 2nd Wednesday of the month
Start Time & Meeting Duration: 10 am
Meeting Place: Lone Star Bible Church on Hwy 23 about 5 miles south of Eureka Springs.
How to get there: From Springdale, take 412E to 45 to 12 E at Clifty, turning right onto 12 and continuing to 23, north to the Church. From Eureka Springs, turn south on 23 at Ozark Village Restaurant, continuing south past Quigley Castle Road, put left turn signal on when you reach the pink house. (Heaven help us if they ever paint that house!)
Meeting Format: Business meeting, followed by workshop and sack lunch.
General Guild Activities: March is our birthday party potluck with surprise entertainment. In months with a 5th Wednesday, we schedule an outing to an area quilt shop and have lunch somewhere.
Quilt Exhibition: We have set a general date of Spring 2006 for our next quilt show, probably to be held at the Inn of the Ozarks Convention Center.
Workshops: Recently we have worked on two-color quilts, done a barn block exchange and had some mini workshops,taught by guild members.
Retreat: No guild-sponsored retreat is scheduled.
Community Projects: From time to time we make lap quilts for groups such as local assisted-living facilities, nursing home, and Meals on Wheels recipients.Several members made an opportunity quilt to benefit the Eureka Springs Museum.We make and fill Christmas stockings for needy local children. These are turned in at the Christmas luncheon.
